Nana’s Western Style Barbeque Wheatmeat

My favorite over rice or mashed potatoes, from my grandmother’s kitchen. Tangy, rich flavor; easy to toss together.

Serves: 2-3


Ingredients
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, thinly sliced      View Available Products
1 green pepper, thinly sliced      View Available Products
2 Tbsp cider vinegar
2 Tbsp veggie Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp red pepper, ground (or minced fresh hot pepper)
1 tsp black pepper, ground
2 tsp chili pepper
1 tsp paprika, ground
3/4 cup catsup/ketchup
3/4 cup water
1 lb seitan/ “wheat meat” chicken-style

Step by Step Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients and simmer 30-45 minutes. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
